Digital Media at UBC explores the research and development of computational systems that intersect design, technology, and community. We create immersive interactive installations, locative media experiences, and performance to engage people on issues of environmental sustainability, resilient communities, and appreciation of nature. Our research results in innovation in the fields of experience design, soundscape analysis, software development, music and art making. As educators, we provide experiential learning opportunities for students to work with projects in a team environment on research, design and developments - combining art, computer science, and culture for developing aware and technologically savvy leaders in the fields of digital media.
